Career Center Plans Free Workshops


Job seekers can learn workplace computer skills, money management techniques

and how to write a resume at the Tennessee Career Center in Talbott.


The workshops are free to participants and are funded through a partnership

between Walters State Community College and the Tennessee Department of

Labor and Workforce Development. Workshops planned at the Tennessee Career

Center in Talbott, which is located on West Andrew Johnson Highway, are listed in the calendar below.


The Career Center @ Talbott offers a resource lab with computers, printers and fax machines that job seekers can use at no charge. Centers also may provide information

about the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the

Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Tennessee Technology Center, Adult

Education Program, Walters State Community College and Workforce Investment

are available at the center. All services are free to anyone who is at least

18 years old.

  The Career Center @ Talbott offers several types of job search ranging from internet based search to local and regional newspapers. Let the staff of the resource lab help you find the perfect job for you

There are 2 ways to file for UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

  1. 1. File by Internet

  2. Sunday - Friday (8am - Midnight)  -- *Internet not available on Saturday


  3. Go to   www.tennesseeanytime.org/labor/

  4. You can apply for Unemployment or update your weekly certification.  Once you are registered, you can report a missing check, file a wage protest, file an appeal and update your personal information.  If you don’t have access to a computer, they are available at your local Tennessee Career Center.  Only lack-of-work claims may be filed on the internet.  NO Federal Claims will be accepted.
